PGCF Awards $110,042 through Fall Grant Intake

In keeping with the Prince George Community Foundation’s pledge of “Giving Something Back”, the Foundation is pleased to announce $110,042 has been awarded in grants to 19 registered charities throughout our community for our Fall 2020 Grant Intake.  

These funds will support a variety of community-led projects by local organizations, including:  

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Prince George - $6,000 to enhance their Virtual Programming  
  • Blackburn Elementary School (Parent Advisory Committee) - $10,000 for pedestrian safety  
  • Caledonia Adaptive Snowsports Society - $4,095 for adaptive equipment and training  
  • Central Interior Native Health - $7,500 for additional entrance support  
  • Community Arts Council - $3,000 to support Method Dance Workshops  
  • Northern BC Crisis Prevention Centre - $1,000 for their COPE program  
  • David Douglas Botanical Garden Society - $7,500 for their garden expansion design work 
  • Hope Air - $5,000 to support accommodation expenses for families travelling out of PG for medical support  
  • Minerva BC - $2,500 for their Learning to Lead virtual workshop 
  • Northern Adapted Sports Association - $10,000 for new adaptive equipment  
  • Northern BC Friends of Children Society - $3,000 to support families travelling out of PG for their child/children to receive medical support   
  • PEERS - $5,000 to support winter clothing/harm reduction kits  
  • Prince George Brain Injury - $8,500 for their Healing & Expression Thru Art program  
  • Prince George FolkFest Society - $10,000 to support Virtual Programming for ColdSnap  
  • Prince George Hospice Society - $3,097 for Hospice Park Site Development  
  • Two Rivers Gallery - $9,000 for their Water & Ice Community Engagement Art Project 
  • Prince George Symphony Orchestra - $5,000 towards their 50th Anniversary Commemorative Book  
  • SD 57 Nusdeh Yoh - $4,850 towards their Food for Thought program  
  • Theatre Northwest - $5,000 towards their Stage Readings

True community development happens through the efforts of passionate citizens. Thanks to the vision and financial investment of local residents, the Prince George Community Foundation was created in 1995 to serve Prince George and region in perpetuity. With the sustainable management of an endowment, ongoing charitable donations and passion for community, the Foundation has provided more than $3.2 million to date for projects championed by local non-profit organizations who work to build a livable, resilient community.
